Alpha Xi Delta

Theta Phi at University of Alabama - Birmingham

Chapter History

The Theta Phi Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was installed on UAB's campus on January 25, 1997. Our founding class prided itself on becoming a sorority of women who valued Courage in all that they face, Graciousness even in defeat, and a strive for Peace both within ourselves and for our community. Since then, we have created traditions that will last through the coming years. From Big/Little reveals in our famous parking lot car shuffle to New Member retreats at the lake, the memories that the Theta Phi chapter has helped create will last a lifetime. .

For our National Founder's Day, on April 17th we celebrate the day that ten young women started Alpha Xi Delta at Lombard College in Galesburg, Illinois.  That one chapter has now grown to over 134 active chapters of Alpha Xi Delta  throughout the United States. We start our Founders' Day with a ceremony and end with a reception, which is a time to visit with current chapter members and alumnae.
